Children's Dolls Houses

Victorian Dolls House

Georgian Dolls House

I draw on 20 years experience of designing dolls houses for Honeychurch Toys Ltd. These were for adults and older children - whom we termed 'Young Collectors' . This is because from about seven years old, children play with a dolls house in a more refined and objective way. Until then, children mostly play out stories that go on in the home and are not so concerned with fine detail. Nevertheless the houses have to be appealing even though they are robust and simple in design.

I also designed a basement unit and mansard extension to the roof. Photos will be added shortly.

Victorian Interior

This was the first design for younger children. It was made by Plan Toys of Thailand and enjoyed great popularity when John Crane Ltd distributed it from 1999 through to 2001. It is unfortunately no longer made.

Overall dimension are:
63 x 33 x 72 cm (25" x 13" x 28")

This is the first dolls house I designed for John Crane to be made by Pintoys. It consists of four open plan rooms inside with a spacious attic room, accessed by hinging the front roof panel back over the top.

The scale matches Pintoys extensive range of 15 cm dolls, furniture and accessories.

Dimensions overall are:
63 x 33 x 75 cm high (25" x 13" x 29")

The Marlborough

This is the latest design made by Pintoys of Thailand and distributed in the UK by John Crane Ltd. in rubber wood and rubber wood faced MDF. Its dimensions and interior are much like the Victorian Dolls House shown next. It also will have a basement option later this year.

A basement unit can be added very simply, providing two more rooms.

The unit adds 23 cm (9") to the height
